Petal and Me

For hours,

We kept each other’s company:

We basked in the silver sun.

We played with the turquoise ripples kissing my toes like an ardent man.

We managed to get by as drifters rescued by the white and golden sands.

We hardly noticed the sun turned orange,

It was fast going down;

And the blue ripples were slowly gone,

My toes gone beige.

My fingers ended purple.

She remained pink in divinity.

She was supple lilac in majesty.

Though I knew,

Soon she’d wilt in brown . . .

But at that moment,

She looked fragile and lifeless;

And I sounded fierce and tough

However, our skins spoke better-

And it was simply a fact.

The Paradox of Waving Hands

Should I wave
from left to right
or close-open?

Should I wave
like Diana, Pia,
or Michelle?
don’t say Melania.

Should I wave
far up in the air
or down
inches close
to my chest?

Should I wave
and throw flying kisses
or marching tears?

Coz though your love
is king,
isn’t the queen.

So I wave
to say bye
I can’t say good;
I can’t see good

as bad diamonds
keep popping
in my eyes.

Incomprehensibly Yours

Why is the shore
so gullible to the waves?

Why is the sky
so lenient to the sun?

Why are the flowers
so generous to the butterflies?

There are a-hundred-and-one things in this world,
which are beyond our understanding–
and amid happening before our naked eyes.

But why decipher
and exhaust ourselves
in finding reasons here and there?

Coz if you really want to know,
you need an open heart to see
and a compassionate soul to comprehend. . .

such hallow beauty
of such ironies
in life.

The Gifts

In my journey
to life,
too often
I nearly get lost
between darkness and light;
noisiness and peace.
Thank goodness,
I stumbled on the gifts.

And if the gift of light
brings me awareness
to man darkness,
the gift of peace
brings grace
through acceptance
that such darkness exists.

When the gift of light
brings me knowledge
to deal with the unknown,
the gift of peace
brings me wisdom
that great possibilities
often lie in the unknown.

And when the gift of light
brings understanding
to unwelcomed thoughts,
the gift of peace
brings compassion
that allows me to reconcile
unwelcomed thoughts
with my morals and values.

For if the gift of light
could walk me
to the valley of truth,
the gift of peace
always allows me
to run worry free in the valley,
all the way
to the apex of serenity,
and even if my eyes are closed.

For the gift of peace
brings the brightest light;
allowing me to see the world,
myself, and everyone around me,
not through the eyes,
but through my heart and soul.

I Love You All the Way

With the entirety of my being:
from the innermost core of my heart;
to the very depth of my soul;
amidst dire barricades,
despite grand walls,
inspite of any given facts,
regardless of screaming differences,
notwithstanding what will come along,
be in hell or in high waters,
I love you.
I will always love you,
always, always will. . .

All the way.

Sometime and Somewhere

Sometime and somewhere
They will meet again,
In a time and place
Where emotions will flow freely,
As three simple words
That two aching hearts long wish to utter
Can at last be spoken.

Sometime and somewhere
They will meet again,
In a time and place
Where two longing hands
Can finally hold each other
As the ticking of the clock
Go silent.

Sometime and somewhere,
They will meet again,
In a time and place
Where four eyes will finally meet
And see the skies,
And they will know:
That’s all that matters.

Still Falling

Love and relationship

Are two different things.

Ours? Yes, we’ve love.

Actually, we’ve love so deeply

That we forgot

To commit ourselves faithfully

To each other.

But relationship?

Forgive me,

It’s questionable.

Hampered by our past,

We both refused

To commit

To our love.

And that is

The saddest part of it.

You didn’t wrong me,

And I didn’t wrong you.

But we wronged our love.

It’s all water under the bridge.

We did manage to get by.

We even managed

To smile,

To laugh with others

As we head apart.

But every now and then,

A voice inside

Keeps confronting me:

“How could you?”

Because even now

We keep saying our love is gone,

Tears still fall

When I think of you.
