I Am a Writer

I am a writer,
and my brain works more than my fingers.

I am empowered by language and words.
I read voraciously.
I speak eloquently.
I write succinctly.
I have an inquisitive mind.
I am meticulous to the tiniest details.
And I rewrite endlessly.

I express my thoughts and opinions with no fear and inhibition.
I argue on everything that you think of;
I have the evocative imagery.
I enjoy the pleasures of imagination;
I think of the unthinkable
and I dream of the impossible.

I do not just glance and flip pages while reading.
I do not just scribble without profoundness and meaning.
I do not settle with a freewrite, nor draft.

Because I think of you each time I write:
For you to read something good,
For you to take something worthwhile,
And for me to create a difference in your lives;
For that is how I should be.

Because I am a writer,
and that is what I have been told.
