Petal and Me

20130908-212831.jpg

For hours,

We kept each other’s company:

We basked in the silver sun.

We played with the turquoise ripples kissing my toes like an ardent man.

We managed to get by as drifters rescued by the white and golden sands.

We hardly noticed the sun turned orange,

It was fast going down;

And the blue ripples were slowly gone,

My toes gone beige.

My fingers ended purple.

She remained pink in divinity.

She was supple lilac in majesty.

Though I knew,

Soon she’d wilt in brown . . .

But at that moment,

She looked fragile and lifeless;

And I sounded fierce and tough

However, our skins spoke better-

And it was simply a fact.

Poetry

When End Defies

This breathing thing
is

A journey to many beginnings
With no ending

A walk
To endless sky

A marathon
With no finish line

A dance
To medley of tunes going round-and-round and on-and-on

A song
With no refrain

A quest
To cascading pursuits

A hike
With no peak awaits

A dive
To bottomless sea

A reign
With no crown

A cry
To desperation of another feet

A day
With no clock

When time rules

Where truth stuns time

When chasing of uneven hands stops

in beloved arms.

And the world stood still.

The Paradox of Waving Hands

Should I wave
from left to right
or close-open?

Should I wave
like Diana, Pia,
or Michelle?
Please
don’t say Melania.

Should I wave
far up in the air
or down
inches close
to my chest?

Should I wave
and throw flying kisses
or marching tears?

Coz though your love
is king;
Mine
isn’t the queen.

So I wave
to say bye
bye:
I can’t say good;
I can’t see good

as bad diamonds
keep popping
in my eyes.

Christmas Is

1the-all-of-christmas

. . . that One magical night,
when the meager Cat turns generous
and the skeptic Mouse gives in.

So for once,
they set aside
their differences;

as they peacefully share
the left-over turkey
on Christmas eve.

Poetry

Up, Up and Away

Whilst the weak heart yearns,

the brave soul dares.

And hope beams,

as whirlwind magic begins.

Whilst surprises of a brand new day are awaiting,

aurora is peeping.

And fragments of stormy nights rush to fade,

as the sun gracefully appears humbling itself to faith.

Whilst gray clouds move,

the blue firmament alights;

Paving way for the mightiest eagle to fly

high above the pinky sky.

Hope is love in disguised.

Got To Believe in Magic

Poetry

When

When the sky would stop looking down at the sea;

When snow would fill all summer and file up on roofs, on roads and trees;

When lizards would speak and stand up for what they see;

And crickets would pay silence

For longing hearts enduring their dreams,

I’ll be over you.

In the Sea and Beyond

In vain

I waited

For the firmament

To open.

I searched high and low

Looking for the key,

In the greenest mountains then

In the bluest seas.

I begged the sands to show me.

I feared the waves were making trouble

In connivance

With the Hawaiian seals.

I saw them barricading

The shores of Waimea;

Capitalizing on torts

Jerking my hopes.

Never knowing

He was

At the other side

Of the shore.

Never knowing

His heart held the key

And clamped onto his soul

Was the chain to earth’s glories.

Never knowing

In his eyes,

Was the firmament,

A heaven long waiting to shine on me.

Now my lips hold the key;

As I approach kissing his lids,

The firmament closes

And he falls to sleep so quick.

“Starry, Starry” Knight

“Starry, Starry” Knight,
Prince of Venus,
Duke of Mars,
how dare you rob
my caratless mind!
I cannot seek justice
against your heist
for in your lips,
I tasted the moistened Earth;
for in your chest,
I romanced with the grandest canyons of Universe.
I cannot seek justice
when together,
we burglarized the love birds
and albatrosses.

“Starry, Starry” Knight,
Prince of Venus,
Duke of Mars,
how could you lit a fire
in my arid mouth?
It’s now a brushfire
burning deep inside.
I cannot seek justice
against your arson
for in your smile
I landed and lingered in the moon
longer than Armstrong;
for in your kisses,
I pirouetted with the stars.

Together,
We bewilder the comets;
We damn the planets–
they think
ours is the new sun.
