“I’ll be looking at the moon, but I’ll be seeing you,” Irving Kahal

What are you doing this evening?

Tonight she thinks of him, alone,
Beneath the moon’s soft silver tone.
Her heart a quiet, steady beat,
In rhythm with the stars’ retreat.

She wonders if he feels the same,
If whispers call him by her name.
Does he, like her, lie wide awake,
With thoughts of love he cannot shake?

The night is still, but in her mind
His voice, his touch, she seeks to find.
Across the miles, through dreams, she’s sure,
Their love remains, unseen, yet pure.

In every sigh, in every star,
She feels his presence from afar.
And though the night may stretch so wide,
Her love, tonight, stays by his side.
