In the universe of my imagination

Describe your life in an alternate universe.

In there, we find
A better world, transformed and of different kind,
Where kindness flows like rivers wide,
Joy and love in our hearts reside.

In there, skies are painted with hues of dreams,
The sunlight dances on gentle streams,
Where every soul is free to roam,
In lands that feel like hearth and home.

In there, no walls divide, no borders stand,
No hate at all, just open hearts and willing hands,
And in every eye, a spark of grace,
Brings tender smile on everyone’s face.

In there, the air is filled with laughter and songs,
A bright world, where we all belong,
And each step we take, a dance of light,
In a realm where all is right.

In there, no fear, no hesitation, no shadow’s blight,
Just endless days, jovial noons, and star-filled nights,
A better life, a brand new world, and peace anew,
In my altered universe, where all our dreams do come true just as I wish for me and you.

The Joy of Scribbling, an Ode

Describe one habit that brings you joy.

O sacred pen, O parchment pure and white,
In thee, I find my soul’s delight,
For within thy boundless realm of ink,
My thoughts and dreams converge and sync.

With every stroke, a world is born,
A canvas vast where ideas are sworn,
To dance and play upon the page,
In timeless tale or fervent rage.

The rustling sound of paper’s kiss,
A symphony of endless bliss,
Each word a note, each phrase a song,
In writing’s embrace, I belong.

O muse, thou art my guiding star,
In realms of fiction, near and far,
Thy whispering voice, a gentle breeze,
That carries me through stormy seas.

From dawn’s first light to twilight’s hue,
In writing, I am ever new,
A creator, a dreamer, a humble scribe,
Inking out the pulse of life’s tide.

In poetry’s sweet, rhythmic flow,
Or prose where deeper meanings grow,
The joy of writing fills my heart,
A treasured gift, an endless art.

With pen in hand, I’m never alone,
In every word, a seed is sown,
Of thoughts profound or simple cheer,
In writing, all is bright and clear.

So let the ink run swift and free,
A testament to creativity,
For in this joy, I find my truth,
An eternal flame, a fountain of youth.

I saved an elderly woman from a conman

Write about a random act of kindness you’ve done for someone.

She always came to me at (Legal Aid Society of Hawaii [LASH]) to do her taxes. One tax season, she came with a middle aged man, which I found strange because she used to come by herself. At LASH, the client had to sit with us, volunteer tax preparers during the process; then our supervisor double checked our work and the veracity of the information.

I noticed from the early part of my interview with her that she was reluctant to answer my questions and give her information. And then I saw her a bit shaking to confirm her birthday that we have on file; and that she wasn’t answering me. Then the guy, held her hand and said, “I’m hurt you’re not letting me know your birthday.” Right away, I stood up and said, “wait a second ma’am; I’ll be back.” Then I looked for my supervising attorney, Ted, who was big, half-Hawaiian half-Japanese.

When I found Ted, I talked to him with our overall site manager, Wayne (who was also part Hawaiian). I told them the situation and explained I never saw her in previous years with that guy. She can’t tell me straight anything and was so anxious. I told them, “Please pull the guy and prepare his taxes separate with her.” And so they did.

When the guy left, to sit with Ted, the elderly woman told me, “Thank you for separating us! I just met him outside, as we wait for you guys to open. I don’t know him.” I answered, “It’s okay ma’am, you’re safe now. Let’s finish your tax.”

What’s the point?

How would you describe yourself to someone who can’t see you?

Why do I have to describe myself?

I am not applying for anything,

Neither, I don’t have to prove my existence.

Isn’t too much information is inclined to narcissism?

Am I filling up a slambook?

I have two active blogs, which are packed with my views and arguments on different issues,

Also, I have pictures of me as I age, and poetry and musings that depicts a glimpse of my soul.

Do I have to strip naked to the virtual world?

What’s the point?

Birthday Celebration

What traditions have you not kept that your parents had?

My parents always ensured that we celebrate birthdays. It doesn’t have to be grand and expensive. But just to show our gratitude for the life we have been given, is enough.

Because amid all tolls, every life is a blessing; and each person is a gift. Moreover, if you can’t appreciate your life, how can you appreciate the other blessings—be big or small—that comes your way?

So, with or without candles to blow, appreciate each year that you grow and live this wonderful world.

Today is special.

Was today typical?

You get up to a brand new day:

That’s more than enough reason

To be glad and be thankful.

There’d be possibilities and opportunities

Throughout the day—

Optimism is on green always,

So go!

Challenges and disappointments are typical—

Be encouraged in finding solutions

Rather than staring at them

And be consumed.

Remember, you have today—

Seize it with gladness.

Also, be on the lookout

for the ever promising tomorrow.

Awkward

How would you describe yourself to someone?

Not unless, we are introduced or for business reasons, I wouldn’t dare introducing myself. Because not only does it sounds bragging, but also as if I am a merchandise. And not to mention, cyber criminals can use my information to their evil advantage.

Tyrannosaurus Rex

If you could bring back one dinosaur, which one would it be?

A.k.a T. Rex was the largest among dinosaurs during Cretaceous period according to the National Geographic. “Named as the king of tyrant lizards,” it’s the fiercest of them all.

What is so interesting with this dinosaur, is its size of “forty-feet long and twelve-feet tall, and weighing up to eight-ton. Mind you: it’s carnivorous, which makes me wonder of a real time Jurassic era, if we, humans have co-existed with them. It would be pretty scary, isn’t it?

A t.rex skull can be seen at Berlin’s National History Museum.
