Writing True

Time. . .

. . . has no patience with anyone.

It waits for no one.

And a love without time

Is nothing but a sigh

For the impossibility.

Writing True

Perhaps ‘Nay

Nay,

Perhaps,

I can’t thank you enough for all the wonderful things you have given me.

Nada– not one bad I recall.

With the nine-months alone,

Of putting your feet to grave,

Carrying me in your womb–

I can’t thank you enough, ‘Nay.

With countless of hard days

and sleepless nights

From birth to these days—

I can’t thank you enough, ‘Nay.

With the running and cramming I put you through

From recitals to graduations,

Baptismal to wedding—

All occasions—

I can’t thank you enough, Nay.

For the tears and sweat you shed;

For the recipes and laughter we shared;

For my secrets and craziness you kept;

For your patience and love that never end—-

Not even waive—

Perhaps, I can’t thank you enough, ‘Nay.

But I love you

and I always will.

Startlingly

I thought it was over.

Startlingly,

Your almond eyes met mines, mesmerizing

Your body too close to mine, throbbing

Your lips to mines, devouring

In your arms; I am a captive, willingly

Startlingly,

The clock stops ticking

My world stalls from spinning

As hands and lips are in motion,

Exchange after exchange,

Imposing dominion over the curves, conquering

Reasons and sanity in commotion,

Startlingly,

Sweet surrendering.

F!

Death is everyone’s destiny.

Parting is the fate of right and left,

just as the sky and sea—

Too inevitable, so separable like you and me, . . .

Ours is history.

Mere consolation:

Memories.

But a minute with yours

means hours of intimacy

with shallots and onions—

seriously!

And when all I have

is a single-ply Kleenex—

so sucks to be me!

Fact. . . factually, . . .

The Best Version of Me

For so long,

We’ve been playing hide and seek.

She’s nailing the hide;

And the seek is killing me.

Maybe, I need a new pair

Of eyes.

Your Lips

I am but a love nerd.

Sweeter than candy canes;

Sweeter, richer than chocolates,

Your mauve lips—

None can compare.

I tiptoed crazy thinking of the contour. . .

Oh sweet, sweeter, sweetest, . . .

. . . hmm. . .

I just tasted the earth.

It’s heaven.

Happy Valentine’s Day WordPress

My very first watercolor painting

Aloha,

I hope all is well with you. As for me, and as you know, depression and I are like a switch—so please bear with me. I am just thankful to God, I am coping at work amid my health challenges. But one of my ways of coping is through the arts of watercolor painting with mostly flowers as my subject. And I am sharing it below.

Thank you for this opportunity to share few of my humble works and a poem. Again, happy Valentine’s Day! I wish you love, peace, and joy. I love you all!

Tulip symbolizes unconditional love.
Birds of Paradise are beloved in Hawai’i.
Daffodils, Daisies et Al
Aren’t sunflowers the happiest flowers in the world?
Gladiola is my birth month flower.
. . . Just one of my doodles.
“Carpe diem,” as anemones say.
Doodling the doodles. I am but God’s doodle too.
Hibiscus is the State Flower of Hawai’i.
Do you know that doodle is defined by Merriam-Webster as “to scribble absentmindedly,” (2023).
Topping the Hall Famers are roses.
Roses and Tulips

P.S. Thank you, Brad, Cindy, Ivon, Paul, Gavin, Esther, Francis, and to all of you to whom I owe for your unwavering support. I am deeply grateful and humbled. Happy Valentine’s Day!

When

-Revised and reposted-

When the sky would stop looking down at seas;

When snow would fill all summer and file up on roofs, on roads and trees;

When no love song to listen nor to sing;

When no rose and chocolate in Valentine’s Day nor any bloom in May;

When lizards would speak and stand up for what they see;

When crickets would pay silence

For longing hearts hanging onto to their dream, . . .

I’ll be over you.
