I’m Waiting

I sit beneath the solemn night sky,
Where every breeze seems like a sigh,
The world moves on, in a gentle pace,
But here I wait, a patient grace.

The moonlight spreads its golden thread,
As thoughts of you are all over my head,
I am wishful thinking of moments yet to be,
Of love that finds its way to me.

Each star above, a wish I make,
That somewhere you’re awake,
Perhaps gazing too at the same night,
And feel the same longing just as bright.

Time is impatient and remorseless, yet I remain
Anchored to hope that quells the silent pain,
For love is worth each passing day,
Each wistful night, come what may.

In every dawn, hope sparks,
A promise subtly hiding in the dark,
That you are out there, getting near,
To end this wait, to calm my fear.

So I will wait, as seasons change,
When a bridge is build, and our paths are rearranged,
And in that moment, when we meet,
The waiting ends sweet, and our hearts complete.

    1. Hi Jean, love is my favorite subject. My love poems have evolved from being a teenager so in love for the first time, to a relentless woman, a hopeful romantic who knows what she wants and pursuing what she wants. Thanks again 🙏
