Writing True

Startlingly

I thought it was over.

Startlingly,

Your almond eyes met mines, mesmerizing

Your body too close to mine, throbbing

Your lips to mines, devouring

In your arms; I am a captive, willingly

Startlingly,

The clock stops ticking

My world stalls from spinning

As hands and lips are in motion,

Exchange after exchange,

Imposing dominion over the curves, conquering

Reasons and sanity in commotion,

Startlingly,

Sweet surrendering.

Writing True

F!

Death is everyone’s destiny.

Parting is the fate of right and left,

just as the sky and sea—

Too inevitable, so separable like you and me, . . .

Ours is history.

Mere consolation:

Memories.

But a minute with yours

means hours of intimacy

with shallots and onions—

seriously!

And when all I have

is a single-ply Kleenex—

so sucks to be me!

Fact. . . factually, . . .

The Best Version of Me

For so long,

We’ve been playing hide and seek.

She’s nailing the hide;

And the seek is killing me.

Maybe, I need a new pair

Of eyes.
