Words Are Double-Edged

Sweet are the lips that

Hold words of contempt ‘gainst

Anyone—be cautious!

As Rain Keeps Pouring Down

A familiar thought

Comes back anew: You, stranger.

. . . think I’m missing you.

Unhurriedly

Find peace in your hard work and good deeds.

I slowed down.

I took a deep breath:

One, two, three. . .

I approached the leather couch,

The ever welcoming couch. . .

Always after a day of hard work,

Hustling for a living,

And while Beethoven was playing

Peace tucked me in.

When

-Revised and reposted-

When the sky would stop looking down at the sea;

When snow would fill all summer and file up on roofs, on roads and trees;

When no love song to listen nor to sing;

When no roses and chocolates in Valentine’s Day nor any blooms in May;

When lizards would speak and stand up for what they see;

When crickets would pay silence:

For longing hearts hanging onto to their dream, . . .

I’ll be over you.

What if I’m a snob and “high nose?”

My late father might come back to life,

Find the closest slipper he can grab:

And I’m sure I’m going to get it;

And it’s not just going to be one.

To be clear:

I am not snob neither,

I am not “high nose.”

The problem is:

You asked me to follow you twice, why?

There are norms and S.O.Ps. here,

But there’s no need for WordPress 101.

Just keep blogging.

Make it interesting.

Be sincere—

And the rest would follow.

Kudos to your hundreds of likes

And follows!

P.S.

Pardon me for the late response.

Thank you!

Sincerely,

Aina

To Pursue a Graduate Degree

What’s one small improvement you can make in your life?

I know it’s going to cost me money, time, and sleepless nights again; but I don’t want to give up my dream of either attaining my M. B. A. or Juris Doctor (JD).

Besides, I’m in America, the land where dreams do happen—I just got to hang on to my faith and be relentless in my pursuit.

Finally, although it’s not small; there’s no such thing as impossible to a person who is determined able and willing.

So help me God.

Happy Mother’s Day!

Dearest ‘Nay and ‘Ma,

Words would never be enough to thank you for the love and all your sacrifices.

You’re heroes to our family and I wish I have better ways to show my love and appreciation.

I love you so much; and may God bless you always.

With all my heart,

Aina
