Kindred Soul

What quality do you value most in a friend?

Extra pair of eyes,

Extra pair of ears,

Extra pair of hands

And feet—

Those are too nice;

But too much to impose

Even to expect.

So to just find

A kindred soul

Who enjoys your company,

Is enough.

As friends are always gifts

From up above.

Breathing

What are you good at?

With decades of living

How can I not master the art of breathing?

Minutes of forgetting it

Means resting in peace eternally.

For now, inhale, exhale—

That’s my thing,

The most important thing.

I can’t take it literally

What does “having it all” mean to you? Is it attainable?

Because if I do, I’d end up being materialistic—

And I don’t like that.

Therefore, to me “having it all” means

What I have in hands already;

What I have accomplished thus far;

My family and friends,

My work and coworkers—

They are that “all”

For which I am so grateful.

Likewise, my blogs,

I am thankful for having them

For giving me the platform:

To air my voice,

Share my perspective and creativity,

Sometimes I can’t help thinking that happiness is just a fantasy,

which makes contentment a reality.

The Greatest Strength of a Man

. . . is the courage to admit he erred,

and to have the will and determination

to correct his mistake.

And though he cringes

When he’s wrong;

His integrity is solidified

when he accepts and acknowledges

his shortcomings and lapses

As We Journey Through Life

We build bridges

That enable us

To cross distance,

Making our journey possible.

We build bridges

That would allow us

To cross each other’s path

And a part of each other’s life.

We build bridges

That would let us

To create meaningful relationships,

Which makes our journeys worthwhile.

Lest we don’t burn bridges;

Because the world is too big

And life is so complex

For one to be alone;

And for one to get through it all.
