Writing True

Canada

What countries do you want to visit?

Vancouver in particular.

I have a missing heart

And I got tip

That the thief lives that far.

One more tip:

Apparently,

the dimsum there is great—

I have to check that out myself.

Because right now,

The best for me is in Shanghai,

I have to remain loyal to US of A,

At least Canada is an ally. . .

You know what I mean,

Jolly bean?

Resiliency

What’s your favorite thing about yourself?

Inspired by the trees,

I am resilient as I can be.

Embattled by different challenges,

I remain steadfast in faith and hope.

And in victory,

I keep my feet grounded

In humility and fear of the Lord.

I Will Not Completely Retire

How do you want to retire?

I don’t want to be idle.

I don’t want to end my life answering puzzles.

I would keep on working until my body surrenders.

I would keep on working and won’t be bothered by numbers.

I won’t wait for death; nor,

I won’t let it catch me doing nothing.

I would give it a hard time chasing me.

Here We Go

We imagine

Sending our big blue kites

A little above the bluer sky,

Halfway to heaven

Where angels play

Like silly butterflies.

But our hands are not letting go

Stapled, glued–we can’t get enough if I may say so

Consolation: We play for the angels

More silly than butterflies

Bewildering the blushing sky

Calling the day off; benching all the kites.

We imagine

Marching braver than the penguins

Holding hands inseparably one winter in northern Antarctic

Where snows end their fate in Hawaiian shave ice,

And the flightless birds need not to hide their babies

Soon coming into life.

But our bodies know only one season: Summer

Know only one task; one mission.

We learn from the bees.

We compete with the bonobos

And the lovebirds, the bowerbirds

The manakins and flamingos.

Imagining aside,

Of eros,

Of philia,

Intoxicated,

Addicted,

Here we go.

Ironically

No one looks at the sea

As passionate as the sky does—

Yet they never touch.

It reminds me of you:

How I am in awe—

And that’s all I can do.

My Fingers and Toes Are Not Enough To Count Those

Describe one of your favorite moments.

When you’re expecting a resentment;

And you get an embrace instead,

When you’re ready for defeat;

And you overwhelmingly win instead,

When you’re eyeing for a catastrophe,

And you end up in jubilation instead,

Those kind of moments

When you’re anticipating an enemy;

And you find a friend instead—

When you don’t expect the moon and the stars

Are aligned for you—

But they are—

And something nice, or great awaits you—

Those are my favorite moments.

Divine moments

Which I cannot fully and eloquently tell—

Maybe—

But I wish I can put them on canvass instead;

I guess,

memories are good enough

to lift and cherish myself

for the rest of my life.

Writing True

Waking up to a brand new day

What notable things happened today?

. . . is notable enough

to be grateful for today.

So seize it

as you may!

Writing True

In Everything I Do

What are you passionate about?

I give my best—

with my heart and soul—

Not only because,

I only have one life to live,

But to give glory to God.
