My Fingers and Toes Are Not Enough To Count Those

Describe one of your favorite moments.

When you’re expecting a resentment;

And you get an embrace instead,

When you’re ready for defeat;

And you overwhelmingly win instead,

When you’re eyeing for a catastrophe,

And you end up in jubilation instead,

Those kind of moments

When you’re anticipating an enemy;

And you find a friend instead—

When you don’t expect the moon and the stars

Are aligned for you—

But they are—

And something nice, or great awaits you—

Those are my favorite moments.

Divine moments

Which I cannot fully and eloquently tell—

Maybe—

But I wish I can put them on canvass instead;

I guess,

memories are good enough

to lift and cherish myself

for the rest of my life.

      1. Glad I could brighten your day Aina. As for the nickname, it is what my students call me, but also comes from a book by Daniel Quinn called “The Story of B” about reclaiming indigenous knowledge to fix a broken society.
