The Die-Hard Poet

This die-hard poet
is an eager learner
of metered words;
to grasp assonance,
and dimeters
in deeper
and broader concepts–
is her goal.

Struck by ironies;
smitten by metaphors;
enamored by alliterations
and rhymes,
the die-hard poet
is in polygamy
with language
and words.

She strives
for eloquence,
and labors
for diction;
always craving
for profoundness
and symbols–
oh, how I know?
The die-hard poetess
is me,
and literary
is my norm.
